Azabache Tango

Azabache Tango emerged from the current tango scene in Buenos Aires and offers a new and surprising interpretation of Argentinian popular music in the format of a classical string quartet.

Since 2017, they have been performing a repertoire consisting exclusively of new works, mostly their own compositions. Last year, their second album was released on the Acqua Records label under the name MUNDO MANIJA. The musicians' artistic quest explores the percussive elements and sonic effects of the instrument family, always trying to subvert the expectations of the line-up in a playful way.
