From the figure to the portrait - playfully drawing people (weekend course)

The human figure has fascinated artists for centuries - no wonder, as our own body and face are an easily accessible "model". We practice quick sketches to recognize the basic forms and gestures, study proportions and individual expression and refine our studies in the technique that suits us best. Our "models" will be ourselves (alternating) as well as photos, which we ask you to bring to the course. We may also visit the Archaeological Collection of the University of Freiburg in the Herderbau on Sunday. Also suitable for beginners. - Please bring along: Pencil, eraser, other pens and colors you like to work with, a mixed media pad in A4 to A3, a hand mirror and photos of people and faces you would like to draw/sketch. Additional materials will be introduced and discussed during the course.
