Freiburg Talks on New Music

My compositional engagement with Martin Luther and Johann Walter

In many of his compositions, Hermann Gottschewski searches for new temporal structures that enable players and listeners, and not least the composer himself, to experience time in a new way. He talks about why and in what way the texts, melodies and the interaction of individual voices in contrapuntal works of the early 16th century inspire him. He will refer in particular to his involvement with the music of Johann Walter.

In cooperation with the Interessengemeinschaft Freiburger Komponisten (IFK).
