If you haven't had the chance to see Keith Jarrett solo or with his trio live, you should definitely watch this film. It is a special experience, especially when the images come from such absolute music film professionals as the Japanese team around director Kaname Kawachi, whom Jarrett had already trusted with his other concert films.

The 1996 concert in Tokyo is characterized by such precise interplay that it takes your breath away.

Beautiful ballads (e.g. "Never Let Me Go" or "Mona Lisa"), groovy numbers such as "Billie's Bounce" or "I'll Remember April", great Jarrett compositions as extensions to "Last Night When We Were Young" and "My Funny Valentine", plus a dense, good version of "Autumn Leaves" - a wonderful listening and viewing pleasure.

The film also contains two encores that are not available on CD. Both "All The Things You Are" (with an ingenious piano intro by Jarrett) and the Ray Bryant number "Tonk" at the end are absolutely fantastic.

Running time: DVD - approx. 100 minutes on big screen
