Duo Asato-Pais & Milonga - Workshop - Concert - Dance

The repertoire of the award-winning duo Asato-Pais encompasses various forms of expression of Argentine tango. With the virtuosity of their arrangements and great artistic versatility, the two musicians, Cristian Asato (piano) and Ayelen Pais (bandoneon), push the boundaries of this traditional genre. They have already been awarded Newcomer of the Year at the Tango World Championships in Buenos Aires.

The first part of the concert will feature works by Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Gardel, Alberto Ginastera and other great Argentinian composers.
In the second part of the concert, tangos, valses and milongas form the duo's danceable repertoire. They revive the classic tango sound of the "golden decade". Elements from the styles of the great orchestra leaders such as Juan D'Arienzo, Aníbal Troilo, Carlos Di Sarli and Osvaldo Pugliese are fused with contemporary forms of musical expression to combine tradition with the present.

Before the concert, there will be a dance workshop to get to know the Argentine tango. All concert-goers, whether in pairs or individually, are cordially invited to attend.

Dancing will be possible during the second part of the concert. After the concert, the evening will continue with a milonga (= tango dance evening).
