Benefit concert in aid of German Cancer Aid
This first concert in the due e due e due series combines original works, arrangements and improvisations and will take place at St. Michael's Chapel (Old Cemetery, Herdern, Karlstr. 39).
The focus of the first series in 2022 was on wind instruments, the focus of this second series is on string instruments: Original works, transcriptions and arrangements.
Three concerts in which the trumpet and flugelhorn are presented as duo partners in three different constellations: with string 'cello, viola and violin, and with vibraphone.
Different transcriptions of Bartok's violin duos connect the three concerts and lead the audience through arrangements, improvisations and compositions from J.S. Bach to the present day.
The first concert kicks off the series on May 5 with French cellist Antoine Billet. We will play a world premiere of a new duo by Freiburg composer Robert Bauer, and I will play a world premiere by Erik Janson. Both are part of the 19-tone flugelhorn 'Inspired by Baroque' project.
