The university's tree ring laboratory opens its doors

Have you always wanted to understand the relationship between tree ring formation and environmental conditions and see it with your own eyes? Then a guided tour of the laboratory of the Chair of Forest Growth and Dendroecology is just the thing for you. In an introduction to our laboratory, you will learn about the various steps involved in researching wood formation and growth ring patterns and find out all kinds of interesting facts about the factors that influence the formation of wood cells. You will then be able to use various methods to create tree ring series and date different wood samples. The course is part of a project funded by the European Union and will therefore be evaluated using an anonymous questionnaire. - Registration required.
