for harmonica, flutes and clarinets

On 18. 5. 2024 8.15 pm, Camerata Instrumentale Freiburg continues its long-standing Kaufhaus Serenades series with a concert that is unique in every respect, unique in its instrumentation of harmonica, various flutes and clarinets, including basset horn and bass clarinet, and unique in its program design and variety. Trio pieces by Henry Purcell, Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Minuet - Adagio - Gigue), Antonio Salieri and, as a special feature, canons in trio formation by the masters Oswald von Wolkenstein, Senfl, Caldara, J. S. Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Reger and Michael. In addition, two duos: Telemann (Duet in A major for flute and harmonica) and Frank Michael's world premiere "Contrasts" op. 99 No. 4 for harmonica and bass clarinet. Romantic Etudes for flute solo by Ernesto Köhler, the Impromptu by Graham Whettam for harmonica solo and the extraordinarily brilliant 3 pieces for clarinet solo by Igor Stravinky complete the program. The musicians are Ulrich Müller-Froß harmonica, Frank Michael flute, piccolo, bass flute and David Glenn clarinet, bass clarinet, basset horn.
