In the Middle of It All – New Drawings by Nora Brügel

“The ‘Evening Images’ are called that because they are usually created in the evening—when the hustle and bustle of the day has subsided and one’s mindset shifts to a calmer, more reflective state.”

Here’s another great opportunity to experience Freiburg-based artist Nora Brügel and her newly created visual worlds. On Friday, October 16, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., Galerie Atelier 4e will host an opening reception, which the artist will attend; art lovers are cordially invited. The exhibition will be on view through December 19, 2026.

“For me, series often develop out of a ritual of drawing. They are a way to keep my eyes open and my pencil moving—even when, objectively speaking, there’s hardly any free time left for drawing. They are small, daily islands. … In doing so, I consciously navigate a space in between: between a narrative-illustrative and a freely artistic visual language, between observed reality and invented situations. The images do not tell complete stories. Rather, they capture moments in which something has happened, is happening right now, or might happen at any moment.” Nora Brügel
