Freddy is a fan of Domi, and Domi is a fan of Freddy. When Freddy plays the guitar, it sounds like an orchestra. He’ll teach you indigenous flute melodies, whisk you away into worlds of sound with the handpan, and—while beatboxing—smear honey around the jaw harp—and into your ears. And Domi—well, he’s a character. He has an eye for the absurdities of everyday life and society, and he articulates them with linguistic finesse and plenty of wit. People found this so inspiring that he became the state champion in poetry slam in 2024. (In Freddy’s heart, he still is.)

Domi writes about the German language and about life’s big and small questions: Why is German such a messed-up language? Are humans monkeys? Do you put the salt or the pasta in the water first?

Freddy improvises, breaks down song structures, raps, sings, operates the loop station, and creates atmosphere—there’s one person on stage, but he sounds like many.

The two met in their very first philosophy class and are now finally bringing their lyrics and music to the stage together: Domi fills the gaps between the main act, and Freddy does the same. Together they’re called lat/schrift.

Phenomenal.
