What if the end is the beginning? What if the second half of life is completely different from what we imagine? A woman disappears from her life and her marriage—not quietly, not orderly, but “On All Fours” (KiWi, 2024, translated from English by Stefanie Jacobs). Her journey across the U.S. begins as a road movie but then leads straight into the feminine heart of darkness: menopause. She strays from the path, ends up in a motel room, and reinvents herself there: dreaming, in pain, and with deeply stirring desire.
Following its spectacular comic book readings from *In the Hall of Mirrors* and *I Don’t Feel It*, the feminist artist collective storytelling engines once again brings Miranda July’s globally acclaimed prose to the stage, telling the story of a woman who stops functioning—and thereby begins to live.
