Jag går på sol - A Farewell Concert for Åsa (ABO 2)

Our ensemble, too, faces TIPPING POINTS—for example, when a member leaves us. Such a moment is upon us: At the end of 2026, our cellist Åsa Åkerberg will be leaving the ensemble. For over two decades, she has had a decisive influence on the ensemble’s sound and collaboration—her departure marks a significant turning point for all of us. *

* *JAG GÅR PÅ SOL* brings Åsa Åkerberg’s long-standing influence to life while also sparking new creative impulses. At the heart of the program is a commissioned composition by Ivo Nilsson, complemented by five miniatures by Carola Bauckholt, Ramon Lazkano, Kristine Tjøgersen, Séverine Ballon, and Ricardo Eizirik, each of which features the cello prominently. The concert title is taken from Edith Södergran’s poem *Triumf att finnas till...*/*Triumph of Existing* and translates to: *I Walk on Suns*. *

* We hope that Åsa never loses that certain “Walking on Sunshine” mindset!
