Ensemble Rarara: "To Give Away"—The Improv Show

In this show, your belongings take center stage!

This improv show full of surprises is dedicated to the most thrilling form of social interaction. Will unwrapping gifts lead to touching insights into the history of a personal item—or to ice-cold plans for revenge?
On this evening, we’ll explore gift-giving in all its facets, from the free gift box to the irreplaceable one-of-a-kind item. We’ll follow lovers as a present melts their hearts. We’ll witness how a sock turns into something highly dramatic. And will the thieves get a nasty surprise when they unwrap their “gift” from the Louvre?
Maybe—because we don’t know in advance what will happen or what’s inside the packages. We play with the items our audience members bring along, and everything that happens this evening emerges from the moment and your suggestions!

For “zu verschenken,” the audience is welcome to bring items (wrapped or unwrapped) for the show and/or for gift-giving and swapping afterward! We’ll incorporate your packages directly into the scenes and let them surprise us and inspire our improvisation.
And maybe one or two of these items will find a new, loving home after the show...

As the Ra!Ra!Ra! ensemble, professional artists from Freiburg’s improv theater scene develop and perform astonishingly new and excitingly entertaining formats, right up close with the audience. Following our most recent productions, “who gets the train” and “Wort*Wein*Nacht,” we’re really looking forward to this premiere at the Cargo Theater in H15. Performing in “zu verschenken” are: Verena Keck, Tamara Burk, Nils Hüttenrauch, and Christoph Hüllstrung
