Fast current, low temperature and high oxygen content characterize the habitat of the mountain stream - whose highly interesting fauna is hardly known even to nature lovers. How have animals managed to adapt perfectly to this special habitat? Get to know insects that cling to ropes, stick to things or carry weights on their bodies. Learn exciting facts about compensatory flight, delayed hatching from clutches and the orientation behavior of mayflies and caddisflies, dipterans and other mountain stream dwellers.
