Concert Reading: Cato – I Want to Live, Live, Live!

The Roman Catholic Parish of Freiburg, in cooperation with the Documentation Center on National Socialism and Protestantism in Freiburg, invites you to a concert-reading. This event is dedicated to Cato Bontjes van Beek, a Nazi resistance fighter who has remained largely unknown until now. She was executed in Plötzensee in 1943. The concert-reading event combines her letters and writings with the music of Bach, sounds from the 1930s, and new compositions by Helge Burggrabe. Julia Jentsch, Stephan Möller-Titel, and Lorenz Meyboden will read, accompanied by the vocal ensemble “Sjaella.” Tickets cost 20 euros, or 10 euros with a discount. They are available in advance at the Ökumenischer Kirchenladen Rieselfeld, the Catholic Church in Rieselfeld, the Catholic Church in Weingarten, and online at cato-freiburg@web.de.
