Hike: Climate change on the Schauinsland - from the mountain station to the valley station

The tour begins with a ride on the Schauinsland cable car to the summit of Freiburg's local mountain. From there, participants hike downhill with forest ranger Philipp Schell back to the valley station. Along the way, you will see how the forest is changing due to climate change and what attempts are being made to adapt it to the current challenges. The hike takes place on steep, stony and sometimes pathless terrain. The hike takes place in all weathers and there are no refreshment stops. Therefore, off-road ability, good footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, a snack and drinks are essential.

Meeting point: Schauinslandbahn valley station.

Minimum age: 12 years.

Participation is free, everyone pays for the train ride on site.
