The Magnetics - Ska / Soul from Italy

The Magnetics sound is a wonderful blend of Jamaican vintage sounds, sugar-sweet SKA from the 60s, rocksteady and early reggae, always beautifully presented in a homely soul and rhythm'n'blues guise!

Pointed Sticks - Punkrock & New Wave from Canada

Pointed Sticks are an instant hit for pop music punks and new wave fans all over the world. Founded in 1978 in Vancouver, Canada, they played in Europe for the first time ever in 2019! Luckily, the band, still touring with ALL original members from 1978, is coming back to Europe with their highly infectious Raw Power Pop Tour to celebrate 40 years of Café Atlantik! An event you should dress warmly for. In 1979, The Pointed Sticks were signed to Stiff Records...

Roy Ellis a.k.a. Mr. Symarip / Reggae & Ska from Jamaica / UK

Roy Ellis excelled at the age of 10 as a solo singer in the youth gospel choir of the Baptist Church in Kingston, Jamaica. He also went to school with Jimmy Cliff in Kingston and counted Bob Marley among his childhood friends. In the 1960s, his family migrated to London, where he founded the band Symarip (in the meantime also The Pyramids) with other Caribbean/West Indian migrant children at the end of the 1960s. Symarip was the spearhead and is considered one of the "original" skinhead bands that consciously joined the young skinhead movement in London's working-class neighborhoods through their music, attitude and lyrics. Their musical style was also known as skinhead reggae and their hits such as "Skinhead Moonstomp", "Skinhead Girl" and "Skinhead Jamboree" underline their affiliation with the scene. Roy Ellis worked with numerous record labels such as Trojan and Treasure Island as well as with other artists - including the "Godfather of Ska" Laurel Aitken.
