EU climate targets and job security - (un)compatible?

The EU faces considerable challenges in achieving its climate targets without jeopardizing prosperity. Especially in view of global developments such as geopolitical conflicts, rising energy prices and inflation. The lecture will provide insights into how the EU intends to meet these challenges and what strategies and measures it is planning to reconcile its climate targets with job security. Prof. Dr. Friedrich Heinemann is an economist at the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research and teaches economics at the University of Heidelberg. He is also a member of the European Commission's EUROPE DIRECT speakers' pool.
