The day begins - 38th Freiburg Literature Talk

Book tickets

The day begins.
It could not be avoided.
The plants are stranded
in the light; react

While the poems of 2024 Peter Huchel Prize winner Anja Utler feel their way along the edge of the sayable, Raoul Schrott seeks to capture the intangible of the cosmos in words and images: With his "Atlas der Sternenhimmel", he opens the 38th Freiburg Literature Talk in the historical merchants' hall. Friday afternoon will be spooky with Ole Könnecke, and the evening will be fast-paced with Clemens Meyer. The reading marathon on Saturday will culminate in an Italian evening with bestselling author Francesca Melandri and Umberto Eco's library in the cinema. On Sunday, Mithu Sanyal will be a guest at the Stadttheater, Sivan Ben Yishai and Ivna Zic at the Theater in the Marienbad. A discussion about language in times of war will lead to Anja Utler's eponymous refrain of grief.

Advance ticket sales start on September 12!
