Aynur - "Raven Tour 2025"

Aynur is the outstanding voice of the Kurdish people and has been combining traditional Kurdish songs with modern music, jazz and pop for a quarter of a century. With her powerful, melancholic voice, she sings in Kurdish dialects and Turkish. Her career began in Istanbul, where she studied singing and baglama. She set new standards in Kurdish and Turkish music and was invited by Yo-Yo Ma to join his Silkroad Ensemble. In 2017 she received the "Master of Mediterranean Music Award" and in 2021 the Womex Artist Award.

With her eighth album "Rabe", Aynur brings together over 20 years of music history. Together with jazz pianist Franz von Chossy, she arranged the album, which was recorded in Cologne and Catalonia. The work contains a mixture of folklore, meditative moments, jazzy improvisations and funky sounds. Renowned musicians such as Michael League from Snarky Puppy and pipa virtuoso Wu Man were involved in the production. The lyrics were written by Aynur and icons of Kurdish and Yazidi culture.

The single "Edlayê" tells the story of a forbidden love and features Aynur in two of her own compositions. Her album combines love poetry, spirituality and the desire for freedom. "Rabe" represents a high point in her career and confirms Aynur as one of the most important Kurdish voices of the 21st century. The famous musician Yo-Yo Ma describes her voice as an unforgettable experience that goes deep into the heart.
