70 years of Egerländer Musikanten - the era continues
The Egerländer Musikanten - das Original celebrate their 70th anniversary in 2026 - and open a fresh chapter with their new musical director Alexander Wurz. The 40-year-old tenor horn player and conductor, who has been part of the orchestra for 15 years, was personally chosen by Ernst Hutter as his successor. Wurz continues the Egerland tradition with his own sound, passion and new impulses - in the line of Mosch and Hutter, but with a view to the future.
The anniversary program tells the story of the orchestra in three musical parts - from classics such as "Dort tief im Böhmerwald" to new compositions, including Wurz's specially written march "Zeitenwende". A large medley of soloists showcases the diversity of musicians from all generations, and Alexander Wurz is also present on vocals: on songs such as "Vogelwiese", he takes over the microphone himself - in the style of orchestra founder Ernst Mosch.
The Egerländer Musikanten - das Original stand for lived continuity, precision and brass music at the highest level like hardly any other ensemble - and invite you to a concert evening full of sound, history and enthusiasm in 2026.
