Anyone who manages to find the rather inconspicuous entrance to this listed historic sandstone building will be surprised by the modern, bright atmosphere that awaits them inside. Home to the printing presses of the Freiburger Zeitung newspaper until 1987, the Markthalle is now a favorite place for eating out in Freiburg, popular with hungry office workers, curious diners and avid foodies, making it a city institution. Enjoy the pleasant bustle at lunchtime or enjoy an Aperol Spritz and the party atmosphere at the weekend, with live music every Friday and Saturday evening until midnight.
