Herderbau

Herderbau

Böwer Eith Murken Architects with the University Building Office, 2011
The former printing works of the Herder publishing house, an industrial building from the 19th century, was renovated and converted for the University campus Freiburg. The northern inner courtyard is spanned by a transparent domed roof, which is supported by four tree-like branching steel columns. This preserved the impression of the imposing building and gave the university rooms an appropriate entrance area.

Visible from the outside and inside.
