Time for joy

It is about love, hope, encounters, consolation and loneliness: a whole spectrum of (inter)human emotions and relationships unfolds in two pictures. Of grief and loss, alienation and belonging, love, longing and separation. In seemingly banal, everyday situations, types of people such as a mother, a neighbor or a fatherless man meet and negotiate what it means to be human and a fellow human being. Who gives us support, with whom do we share our worries? In Arne Lygre's play, the intensity of human longings becomes palpable. And leads us to the conclusion that, despite all the tragedy, life is still a joy. Mina Salehpour, born in Tehran in 1985, has been working as a freelance theater director since 2011 at the Burgtheater Vienna, the Schaubühne Berlin, the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and Det Norske Teatret in Oslo, among others. Her works have been invited to international theater festivals in Bulgaria, Pune, Chennai and São Paulo. In 2013, she was the youngest winner of the German theater prize "Der Faust" for her production ÜBER JUNGS As part of X-CHANGE - Sustainability through Exchange, Mina Salehpour's production and Swiss premiere of ZEIT FÜR FREUDE is coming to Theater Freiburg. In return, our production of WOYZECK will make several guest appearances in Bern.
