Marie is desperate. The author hasn't put anything down on paper for a long time. The negative reactions of her feminist readers to her last book in particular have left her deeply unsettled. And now her bleeding has started. Again. She tries to reach the doctor who advised her last time by video call. But his colleague only advises her to avoid the emergency room, to rest and to freeze the fetus and placenta for a possible later examination. Meanwhile, her friend Perceval is giving interviews about his highly acclaimed, algorithm-based poetry and his patron Byron is also taking up his time. But then Marie's closest friend Claire, a former actress who has now successfully retrained as an elite group consultant for Tupperware, brings a 3D printer into Marie's kitchen ... Loosely based on Mary Shelley and her FRANKENSTEIN, French-Canadian playwright Sarah Berthiaume and Italian director Camilla Dania plumb the depths of creation and reproduction - in a dystopian, feminist gothic comedy that puts our own monstrosities on the dissecting table. Sarah Berthiaume was recently awarded the "Prix du Gouverneur General", Canada's most important literary prize, in the "Theater" category for WOLLSTONECRAFT. TheaterFreiburg is presenting the German-language premiere of the play.
