We firemakers - the past and future of an amour fou

"People make fire, but fire also makes people" is the quintessence of the book "Pact with Fire. Philosophy of a world-changing covenant". To conclude the thematic focus on petromodernity, author Jens Soentgen (chemist and philosopher, Scientific Director of the Environmental Science Center at the University of Augsburg) will speak about the relationship between humans and fire on Thursday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the University campus Freiburg, KG III, lecture hall 3219. He and Vitali Konstantinov received the "Science Book of the Year" award in 2016 for their study "How to Philosophize with Fire".

The lecture is part of the series "On Life in the Anthropocene" in collaboration with the Günther Anders Research Center of the University campus Freiburg, the Studium generale of the University of Freiburg and Theater Freiburg.
