Winter concert of the Per Tutti Orchestra

Winter concert of the Per Tutti Orchestra

Free entry

This year's winter concert by the Per Tutti Orchestra begins in heroic-romantic style: the overture to Schubert's 1823 opera "Fierrabras" transports the audience into passionate, chivalrous love dramas on a dense carpet of sound flying through adventurous maneuvers.

Also not to be missed is the world premiere of Anton Stingl's Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Schubert, which has been postponed for 85 years for reasons that remain partially unexplained. The composer, who lived in Freiburg from 1927 until his death in 2000, chose a theme from Rosamunde for his largest orchestral work. The score was made available to the Per Tutti Orchestra by Stingl's eldest son.

The lively finale is Schumann's Spring Symphony from 1841, whose theme from the first movement will certainly be hummed to itself for days to come. Schumann mentioned a "springtime urge" which he preserved here in his first symphony over the centuries - and which is still able to infect anyone who hears even the first wind movement.
The Per Tutti Orchestra looks forward to seeing you at the winter concerts!
