Wild herb adventure tour around the Schlossberg

Learn and explore on the wild herb tour what nature has in store for us in terms of medicinal and culinary delights. Learn more about the traditional knowledge of the healing properties of herbs and experience new flavors while tasting snacks made entirely from wild herbs.

The tour runs uphill on the north side of Freiburg's Schlossberg to the Kommandantengarten and on to the forest meadow at the Fort Carre bastion terraces on the upper Schlossberg. From the meeting point at the tourist information office on Rathausplatz, the route leads through Freiburg's old town to the foot of the northern Schlossberg. With leisurely steps and yet with a little stamina required, we walk up the serpentines and explore the wild herbs with all our senses.
About halfway through the tour, you are invited to take a short break and sample the wild herb snacks that Ms. Fehrenbach has brought with her. Afterwards, the exploration tour continues up to the forest meadow at the Fort Carré bastion terraces on the upper Schlossberg. More medicinal herbs and a wonderful view over Freiburg await you here.

- Please bring writing utensils and adhesive tape for any notes you may wish to take
- Out of consideration for the herbs, please do not bring dogs on the tour.
