A contemporary opera for recycling yards and other utopian places

We find ourselves in a historical excavation site in the year 3024, where archaeologists are searching for artifacts from the past. Due to a shortage of resources, a scientist is trying to build a time machine that will allow contact with the past. The time travelers suddenly end up in the middle of the St. Gabriel recycling yard in the year 2024 and have to solve the problem of the scarcity of resources in the future in the present...

Community Oper Freiburg e.V. is an artistic initiative for the development of contemporary and participatory musical theater for a diverse urban community of the future. High-quality music theater is developed beyond traditional opera structures and aesthetics and interwoven with current topics.
The aim is to create lively music theater at the heart of the Freiburg community, to build connections between (non-theater) institutions and initiatives, to discuss current issues and to bring them to the fore.
