Christmas upcycling
Friday, 21/11/2025 / 03:30 PM / Waldhof e.V. - Academy for Continuing Education
Upcycling is a term that refers to the process of repurposing or upcycling used or seemingly useless items to give them new life and value. Instead of throwing things away or recycling them, upcycling transforms them into new and useful products or works of art, which is the idea behind this workshop - making Christmas crafts from materials such as newspaper, used wrapping paper, plastic scraps, drinks containers and much more, using craft techniques such as weaving, braiding, sewing etc. No experience is necessary. No previous experience is necessary. Just a desire to experiment freely! Material costs: €5
Course leader: Benedix, Barbara. The course leader has a degree in design, works as head of the art and culture department at the adult education center in Kassel and has many years of experience as a seminar leader. Her focus is on working with existing, used materials, especially paper, textiles and plastic. She is interested in translating old craft techniques into "other" materials and using them to create something new and well-designed.
