The Freiburg-born artist Lukas Gartiser, who currently lives in Mainz, is showing large-scale installations of "scroll drawings" and small-format drawings at Schopf2 (Schopfheimerstr. 2 in Freiburg). Gartiser draws his immediate surroundings, focusing in particular on plants, animals and people in their momentary movement and change. Most of the works selected for the exhibition were created in orchards and forest clearings in the Black Forest and on the Schönberg. The large-format depictions of nature allow viewers to immerse themselves in impressions of nature made up of flowing colors and shapes.

The vernissage will take place on Saturday, November 21, 2024, from 7 p.m., with an introduction by Paul Laakmann, an artist talk with Laetitia Eskens and a clarinet improvisation by Carla Fuchs. As part of the accompanying program, there will be a scenic reading by the authors Jan Laakmann (Cologne) and Niklas Linnenbach (Frankfurt) on Saturday, January 4, 2025, 7 pm, as well as a live concert of experimental songs by Carla Fuchs at the finissage on January 11, 2025, 7 pm.
