Lecture: Results of provenance research on the Oceania collections of the Ethnological Collection

From January 2023 to December 2024, a project funded by the German Lost Art Foundation researched the provenance of two collections that officers of the navy ship S.M.S. Cormoran amassed in Oceania between 1901 and 1912. In particular, the connection with so-called punitive expeditions in which the officers were involved was investigated. In his lecture at the end of the project, project manager Godwin Kornes will present the key findings of the provenance research to the public. Participation costs 3 euros.
