From #booklove to #bookslove - Jerome Day with Dejla Jassim and Katharina Triebner-Cabald

Book tickets

The new and young adult genres are the current recipe for success on the book market. Tropes, social media and hashtags - the experiences of translators, who are increasingly dealing with self-publishers rather than publishers, are as new and varied as the texts themselves. How do you translate the originals into German when deadlines are getting tighter and expectations of literature are constantly changing?

Translators Dejla Jassim (Freiburg) and Katharina Triebner-Cabald (Strasbourg) provide insights into the challenges and moments of happiness when translating from English and French, such as the Oxbridge series by Lulu Moore or the Kyra Stormrider volumes by Jupiter Phaeton. On International Translation Day, they talk to their colleague Karolin Viseneber about exciting stories, Spice Level and the brave new world in pastel.
