Lecture by Dr. Christoph von Marschall, Tagesspiegel | As part of the series "Tipping point: Europe and the USA in 2025"
The conflicts between the USA and Europe are increasing and are even leading to scandals. President Trump recently kicked Volodymyr Zelensky out of the White House. Vice President J.D. Vance claimed at the Munich Security Conference that the "enemy within" was a greater threat to the Western alliance than Russia or China. Can Germany still count on the USA as a partner?
Together with Dr. Christoph von Marschall, Diplomatic Correspondent for the Editor-in-Chief of the Tagesspiegel, who is currently a Global Europe Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, we want to analyze: What priorities do Germany and Europe need to set now? In his new book Der schwarze Dienstag. Why a war with Russia threatens and how the German government can prevent it, he warns of an attack by Putin on the Bundeswehr in Lithuania as soon as the war in Ukraine is frozen.
