Dances from Southeast Europe at the turn of the year 2025

In south-eastern Europe, traditional dance is still alive today, and not just in rural areas. Selected dances from the various countries provide an insight into the diversity, liveliness and richness of this special cultural asset. Participants can expect lively to contemplative melodies, sometimes crooked and unusual rhythms and arm-swinging. Cultural-historical and regional background knowledge deepens the insights into folklore dance, and the two dance instructors have been traveling the Balkan countries in particular and collecting traditional dances for more than 35 years. The selection of dances takes into account all levels of difficulty. A fixed dance partner is not necessary.

Course leader: Grimm, Klaus. The two dance instructors have been traveling the Balkan countries for more than 35 years. They discover and collect traditional dances, which they teach in their courses. More at www.internationale-folkloretänze.de
