Program

An evening between repertoire and improvisation with Merel Martens as special guest.

This concert evening moves between sophisticated repertoire and improvised music, which is created through the participatory guidance of the choir conductors and individual singers. This concert experience is guaranteed to be unique! The concert will feature the new Jazz/Pop Choir of the College of Music Freiburg and the Freiburg University of Education as well as two Freiburg school choirs, led by former students of the College of Music Freiburg. Each choir uses vocal painting - a musical sign language - in its active choral work to create or develop music in the moment. "Synchronize" is one of these hand signs, which on this evening also stands for the fusion of the three choirs, each of which brings its own unique timbre to the stage. Dutch choirmaster Merel Martens is the evening's special guest. She leads the Vocal Leadership course in Rotterdam and is a master in the use of vocal painting in the field of modern jazz/pop choral music.
