Svaneborg Kardyb - Superkilen

The Danish duo Svaneborg Kardyb, consisting of Nikolaj Svaneborg (keyboards) and Jonas Kardyb (drums), will release their fourth album Superkilen on October 18, 2024 on Gondwana Records. Named after a park in the multicultural Copenhagen district of Nørrebro, the title is emblematic of the unifying and transformative potential of their music. Like the revitalization of the neighbourhood, the album brings new energy to their sound, complemented by bold synthesizers and more powerful beats. Inspired by the vibrancy of their touring and the urgency of modern challenges, their Nordic jazz is more layered and dynamic - without losing the delicate beauty that their global fans appreciate.
From the burlesque synth patterns of the title track to the meditative calm of Udsigten, which captures the view from their studio on the island of Møn, Superkilen is an adventure in sound and emotion. Supported by Portico Quartet bassist Milo Fitzpatrick and inspired by labelmates like Caoilfhionn Rose, the album pushes their artistic development forward.
