After the sold-out tour in 2022 and 2023, fans of Suzanne Vega can look forward to new performances in Germany! On July 22, she will also be coming to Freiburg. She will not only be bringing her loyal companion and guitarist Gerry Leonhard with her, but also an impressive best of from the repertoire of her long career and her 2019 album "An Evening of New York Songs and Stories"!

Two-time Grammy winner Suzanne Vega and sought-after guitarist Gerry Leonhard, who has already recorded with music greats such as David Bowie and Cyndi Lauper, will bring the most beautiful songs from Suzanne Vega's decades-long music career to the stage this summer. This intimate alliance promises fans a very special atmosphere full of emotion and passion.
Widely regarded as one of the leading songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega emerged as a major figure in the folk music revival of the early 1980s. Since the release of her self-titled, critically acclaimed 1985 debut album, she has written and recorded numerous songs that have become part of the vernacular of contemporary music, including "Luka", surely the only hit ever written from the perspective of an abused boy, "Marlene on the Wall", a surprise hit in the UK, and "Tom's Diner", an unusual little a cappella piece remixed by British electronic dance duo "DNA", which became a major club hit. Her albums, including her self-titled debut, the follow-up, Solitude Standing and 99.9F, have sold millions of copies.
Suzanne Vega's songs bear the stamp of a master storyteller who observes the world with a clinically poetic eye. Her songs always focus on city life, ordinary people and real world issues. Suzanne Vega's work is as distinctive and thought-provoking as it was when her voice was first heard on the radio over 30 years ago.
