Soul Radics (Ska, Rocksteady, Rootsreggae/USA)

The soulful ska and bluebeat band from Nashville/Tennessee hits the mark. Likeable tradska that is definitely snappy, but also convinces in quieter moments when singer Dani uses her very good voice or the band shows its strong instrumental side. Mastermind Dani writes beautiful songs that she arranges cleverly and catchily so that everyone can dance along from the first bar. Goal achieved, to get a party going! Despite the sugar-sweet melodies, singer Dani's performance always has a subliminal skinhead attitude - a bittersweet subculture journey between Tennessee, Jamaica and London's working-class neighborhoods.
