To mark the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Freiburg on November 27, 1944, the film production company B2W filmworks GmbH, in cooperation with the FWTM, invites you to a special screening of the documentary film "Sonst war es still - Zeitzeugen der Freiburger Bombennacht erzählen" in the historic Westhoff building. The screening is supported by funding from the program "Zukunftsfähige Innenstädte und Zentren" (ZIZ) of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building. The film was produced in cooperation with the Freiburg Münsterbauverein. It offers moving insights into the memories of contemporary witnesses who experienced the night of the bombing as children and young people.
Two film screenings on November 27, 2024 in the Westhoff building invite you to experience the personal stories of contemporary witnesses in a place with special historical significance. The makeshift building from the reconstruction period, which served as the filming location, forms the authentic backdrop. A memorial service will also take place between the two film screenings at 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm. The "Night Prayer in Remembrance of the Bombing of Freiburg 80 Years Ago" is organized by the Freiburg Minster Building Association, the Catholic and Protestant City Deanery and the Association of Christian Churches and Communities (ACK) and begins at 20:00 in Freiburg Minster. The evening offers a unique opportunity to remember together and to experience the moving stories of the people of Freiburg in an atmospherically impressive setting.
