Summer Intensive Dance - Fight - Grow Retreat

The summer retreat Dance - Fight - Grow is a highlight of the year, a time full of exchange and intensity, training, dancing, fighting, eating, celebrating and simply being together in the wonderful ambience of the Waldhof Freiburg. We combine the art of movement and personal growth, using nature, the house and many exciting locations as inspiration. In the garden with redwood trees and in magical places in the forest around it, in clearings, in the Black Forest, in Freiburg, we connect with the elements and find a new perception and sensuality.on the basis of contemporary dance, contact improvisation and Filipino stick fighting art, we strengthen our awareness of ourselves, learn creativity, curiosity and communication. Playing with dance and combat challenges and encourages us as a whole (body-mind-work) and brings opposites and extremes into balance. We train our minds as well as our bodies, strengthen our health, fitness and strength ... In an atmosphere of acceptance and trust, a space is created for self-development and self-realization, which everyone can use in their own unique way. We expand our comfort zone and find inner freedom. Touch, exchange, being in the flow, learning to learn, letting go, allowing change, stillness.... The morning consists of movement and technique training in contemporary dance, contact improvisation and Filipino martial arts. We will learn and explore a basic vocabulary with which we can later experiment and communicate. Strength, momentum, coordination, elegance and permeability develop almost incidentally. With a lot of humor and without effort, we take a new look at old movement patterns and release new movements and sides of ourselves. the second part of the day consists of bodywork (release work), improvisation and composition. The principles of martial arts and dance become visible. What does alertness mean for space and time? Closeness and distance, attention, mindfulness, demarcation? How do all the incredible locations work in combination with music and silence? Images and stories full of uniqueness and urgency emerge from being with, to and from each other. In addition, there is always an open space in which we show and share techniques and other dance and martial arts.
