Step by step to your own heat pump

A new series of events organized by the Environmental Protection Agency in cooperation with the Energy Agency Regio Freiburg shows how the switch from fossil heating systems to heat pumps can be successful. Another event will take place in Hochdorf in March.

From planning and funding opportunities to installation - participants can first expect a practical overview of the most important steps in replacing a heating system. The second part of the evening offers the opportunity to talk to energy consultants and local plumbing and heating companies.

The event will be offered in various districts and towns in Freiburg. The focus is on areas that are classified as "heat pump suitability areas" according to the municipal heating plan. These areas are less densely populated than others, which is why the demand for heat is lower. Expanding district heating there would be more expensive than in other parts of the city and is therefore not planned. Those who live there can use decentralized solutions such as heat pumps instead.

Registration for the event, maps of the suitability areas and the planned expansion of the heating network as well as further information on replacing heating systems and refurbishment can be found at www.freiburg.de/waerme
