Theological motifs of creation in the context of AI and digital art

Free entry

On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition "Animation in the Chapel" by Tobias Eder, the Katholische Akademie Freiburg invites you to a lecture entitled "Das Strömen der Bilder" on Monday, September 16 at 7:30 pm at Wintererstr. 1. In his lecture, art and cultural scientist Wolfgang Ullrich will shed light on how digital and AI-generated images are bringing religious topoi back into the art discourse. He will show how the creation of these images is often perceived as mysterious and almost divine, and how they challenge and expand traditional notions of creation and religious imagery.

Admission is free. Registration at www.katholische-akademie-freiburg.de.

The lecture will be livestreamed.

The exhibition "Animation in the Chapel", a video installation by Tobias Eder, can be seen from September 16 to October 11 in the chapel of the Katholische Akademie Freiburg, Wintererstr. 1.
