Insights from the perspective of a queen pollinator To kick off the series, this lecture will provide a comprehensive insight into the current state of biodiversity and highlight the essential role of bees within the ecosystem, present alarming facts on biodiversity and explain why the loss of biodiversity threatens not only nature, but also our food security and health. The focus will be particularly on bees, which are key pollinators responsible for pollinating 75% of the world's most important crops. The drastic decline in their population highlights the urgent need for action.
