"Travel book from the Austrian Alps"

Book tickets

The Austrian composer Ernst Krenek was a great admirer of the works of Franz Schubert. Krenek had his famous cycle "Die Winterreise" in mind when he wrote the texts and notes for his own song cycle within a few days in 1929: the "Travel Book from the Austrian Alps". The beautiful, often arduous life of the inhabitants of the Alps is depicted here in apt moods - almost a hundred years after publication, the texts surprise with their incredible topicality. On Thursday, October 10, 2024, Hans Jörg Mammel will bring the songs to life, accompanied on the grand piano by Burkhard Kehring.
