Regional market

When there are all kinds of delicacies from the Black Forest and Kaiserstuhl to taste and buy right in the heart of Freiburg, then it's time again for the regional market. And this year there is even a milestone birthday to celebrate: the city, Naturpark Südschwarzwald e. V. and Naturgarten Kaiserstuhl GmbH are inviting you to the old synagogue square for the twentieth time on Saturday, July 27 from 11 am to 5 pm.

At 11.30 a.m., Environment Mayor Christine Buchheit, together with Marion Dammann (District Administrator of Lörrach, 1st Chairwoman of Naturpark Südschwarzwald e. V.) and Christian Riesterer (Mayor of Gottenheim, Supervisory Board of Naturgarten Kaiserstuhl), will ceremonially open the colorful market. This will be followed by a joint tour. The Orchestra Hochstapler from Freiburg will provide the musical entertainment for the anniversary edition.

Under the motto "Black Forest meets Kaiserstuhl", products such as juice, wine, truffles, mushrooms, jam, honey, as well as wooden goods, herbal cushions and wool and other products from the Kaiserstuhl and the Black Forest will be on sale at numerous market stalls - all produced regionally, of course. Visitors can discover delicious recipes and original gift ideas from the region. The producers provide information about the origin and quality of their products and offer small samples.

The city's environmental protection department, forestry department and - for the first time - the stream sponsors from the garden and civil engineering department will be providing information about their work. The nature garden and nature park present their regions at various information stands - in addition to food and drink, the focus is also on nature conservation, tourist highlights and regional agriculture and forestry.

The Kaiserstühl cherry princesses from Königschaffhausen will also pay a visit to the market. The charming representatives of the region will visit the market stalls and will be available for discussions and photos.

Together with the Kaiserstuhl tour guides, Naturgarten Kaiserstuhl GmbH will present interesting information about the region. The tour guides will be available to answer visitors' questions and provide insights into the cultural and scenic treasures of the Kaiserstuhl.
