With the drawknife, beautiful and durable shrub holders or climbing aids for the garden are made from fresh oak or chestnut wood using the cutting blade.
Courses in the green wood workshop
The forest house (WaldHaus) has been running a green wood workshop since it opened in 2008. Working with freshly felled wood used to be widespread. It is easier to work with than dried wood. In addition to working on the cutting axe with draw knives, other special techniques and tools are used. Our workshop manager Frank Janson and other experienced instructors teach the art and skill of green woodworking in various courses.
