Passion
Friday, 30/05/2025 / 07:30 PM / Theater Freiburg - Large House
Our world seems to have come apart at the seams. The signs of this are now clearly visible - here in Europe, in the Middle East, across the Atlantic, in the Global South and at the polar ice caps. But how much suffering can this world actually endure? How much responsibility do we have to take for it? How do we deal with the emotions associated with it? To what extent can suffering be a catalyst for change? Our bodies are a repository for events from the past, but at the same time also a tool for realizing a shared future. Passion gives us the energy to realize our dreams. It is the motivation to do something - and also the psychological power to tackle something. It helps us to endure the pain of doing something: "It is through passions that man lives, through reason he merely exists." (Nicolas Chamfort) Together with choreographer Graham Smith, the 220 members of the intergenerational SCHOOL OF LIFE AND DANCE (SOLD) at Theater Freiburg take extreme emotions beyond reason as the driving force behind a cathartic, choreographic evening of theater.
