Becoming a pedagogical specialist - how do you get started?

All women from Freiburg and the surrounding districts who are interested in the care, upbringing and education of children are invited to attend. Whether you are a career changer, a woman with professional experience or someone who has already worked in the education sector abroad - all interested parties are welcome.

The event offers answers to key questions: Which paths lead to becoming a pedagogical specialist? Which professional fields are open afterwards? And what opportunities are there for women who already have experience of looking after children aged 0 to 10?

The event will begin with testimonials from educational professionals who will provide insights into their everyday working lives and explain how they managed to enter the industry. Afterwards, experts will give short presentations on various training paths: from school-based training to become an educator or social pedagogical assistant (childcare worker) to practice-integrated training (PIA), the external school examination or the new "Direct entry to daycare" course. For women with a migration background, there is information on how educational qualifications obtained abroad can be used and recognized. Information will also be provided on financial support options as well as language and school requirements.

Afterwards, representatives from renowned institutions, including the Merian School, the Edith Stein School, the advice center for the recognition of foreign professional qualifications, the specialist offices of the city administration, the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Emmendingen District Administration Offices, the employment agency, the job center, the working group for daycare facilities, the "beruf leben akademie" training institute and the childminders' association, will be available to answer individual questions.

Participation is free of charge, registration is now possible here.
