In a time full of polycrises, the staged intercultural concert MIND THE GAP! explores how we can encounter the supposed "other", facilitate dialog and endure challenges and uncertainties.

Connected by their string instruments, which come from very different cultural backgrounds, Susana Schnell on the cuatro meets Adonis Fatra on the oud. They search for musical connections, complement each other with their individual playing styles and develop compositions that oscillate between oriental, Latin American and European influences. Different worlds of sound and harmonies come together, merging consonantly and dissonantly. Microtonal scales from Syrian music combine with Latin American rhythms to create a unique, floating musical space of the in-between.
Through a dense dramaturgy of live music, soundscapes, performance and text, the empowering nature of the dialog can be experienced and challenges can be faced.
